Abstract The prediction of the drilling rate penetration (ROP) is one key aspects optimization due to its significant role in reducing expensive costs. Many variables could affect ROP, which can be classified into two general categories; controllable operational and uncontrollable or environmental variables. Minimizing cost achieved through optimizing parameters. As a direct result, speed will increased while maintaining safe practices. primary purpose this study address simultaneous impact parameters such as weight on bit (WOB), revolutions per minute, flow (FR) (ROP). Response surface methodology was applied develop mathematical relation between ROP. To accomplish this, actual field datasets from several wells drilled Southern Iraq different fields were used. second identify all prospective optimal ranges these obtain superior performance with an optimum obtained results showed that developed model offers cost-effective tool for determining maximum ROP function reasonable accuracy.
